Thriving Lancaster County Bed and Breakfast Inn
O’Flaherty’s Dingeldein House is a successful 6-guestroom bed and breakfast for sale in Lancaster, PA in a lovely residential setting along one of Lancaster’s prominent boulevards. This Lancaster Village bed and breakfast inn, in operation for over 20 years, is convenient to both a lively downtown art and dining scene, as well as all the delights of Pennsylvania Dutch country.
Lancaster County is among the top tourism destinations in the country, drawing 8 million visitors annually. Visitors come to explore museums, antique shops, Amish crafts, farm markets, gourmet dining, and family fun attractions. Several area colleges bring parents and prospective students to town. The Inn’s occupancy rates and excellent bottom line say it best: here is a wonderful opportunity for a buyer seeking an established business in a thriving tourism market.
O’Flaherty’s location in a residential neighborhood adds to its warm welcoming personality. The Inn’s name is a nod to former owners who loved all things Irish. Today the theme is informal, comfortable Americana with thoughtfully appointed guest rooms, relaxing gathering places inside and out, efficient behind-the-scenes work areas and lovely private owners’ quarters. Commercial zoning allows for future expansion – a boon to new owners.
The Inn is comprised of 3 separate buildings, the Main Inn, the Cottage and an oversized two car garage. The buildings are connected by landscaped garden paths arranged around the parking area. The garden and buildings occupy a corner lot, enclosed by an evergreen hedge – the effect is of an English cottage garden.
On the ground floor of the Main Inn, built in 1921, is the guest dining room, kitchen, grand living room and cozy timbered den. Vintage antique furnishings and glowing fireplaces invite guests to relax and linger as they plan their local itineraries. In summer, guests enjoy morning coffee on the wisteria covered porch. On the second floor is the spacious Master Suite and the two bedroom Garden Suite. (The Garden Suite is ideal for families – a frequent type of visitor to Lancaster County.) On the third floor are two more guest rooms, the Queen Room and the Princess Room. The rooms of the Garden Suite share a bathroom: all other guest rooms have private bathrooms, furnished in vintage style.
Behind the Main Inn, down a garden path, is the Cottage, built in 1992. The name implies a tiny abode, but in fact, the Cottage has two ample guest rooms with modern en suite baths and the spacious owners’ quarters. The large welcoming living room is currently set up for guest use. Pocket doors provide access to the owners’ private realm. The owners’ residence includes a large open kitchen with an office nook and dining area, two bedrooms and a bathroom. Sliding glass doors in the kitchen open to the owners’ private deck.
O’Flaherty’s Dingeldein House has a 20 year history of success. Business is brisk and profitable. The owners of this fine Bed and Breakfast Inn are eager to spend more time with their grandchildren. We have suggestions for your future at this proven Inn. Your inquiry is welcome!
