Near Philadelphia and Valley Forge
The Globe Inn is an historic B&B for sale in southeastern Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley. The 3-story brick landmark inn has been in continuous operation since 1895. The guest rooms are a versatile mix of well-appointed bed and breakfast rooms and extended-stay suites. The inn has a vast fully equipped commercial kitchen, a full service bar and a large banquet dining room. The Globe Inn is 50 miles north of Philadelphia and 100 miles west of New York City, ideal for weekend getaway guests.
Location is key and the Globe Inn is a short drive from Philadelphia, Valley Forge, Bucks County and other Greater Philadelphia tourist destinations. 1 mile from the inn is Green Lane Park and the start of an uninterrupted 20-mile bike-and-hike path that winds its way to Valley Forge Park. An internationally known prep school, 1 mile from the inn, provides a great deal of repeat business. A number of important manufacturing companies are located in the area, supporting the extended-stay business. There are first-rate restaurants just minutes from the inn.
The Globe Inn retains its original historic façade and many of its original interior features. Modern updates compliment the original architecture. The banquet dining room, bar, kitchen, restrooms, laundry, office, the guest common room and three guest suites are located on the first floor of the inn. Six additional guest suites are located on the second floor. Guest suites on the first and second floor are quite spacious and nicely appointed with spa tubs, fireplaces, microwaves and refrigerators. On the third floor of the Inn are six extended stay suites, furnished with kitchenettes. All 17 units have private bathrooms. There are two furnished apartments within the Slate House, a separate building next door to the inn. These apartments are operated as extended stay suites, generally for longer rental periods. Another two story commercial building is leased to a custom woodworking company. Both buildings are included in the inn sale price.
Lodging sales approach $250,000 and the Globe Inn has a solid history of profitability. The upside potential of the Globe Inn is matched by Greater Philadelphia’s excellent demographics. The inn has operated a popular restaurant and has a fully licensed bar. New owners have the option of offering food service, if desired. For details, contact Eliot Dalton (610-717-8083)
